If you are visiting from outside the state or country, you may be aware of Florida’s reputation for its hot and stormy weather. Florida generally has a hot and sunny climate throughout the year, hence its nickname! However, there are certainly some months that are more enjoyable to visit Florida in than others. Today I’m going to discuss what it’s like to visit during different times of the year, to help you plan your next vacation to the Sunshine State! Winter in Florida It’s no surprise that so many people escape to Florida for the winter season. While January sees the coolest temperatures of the year, they are still much warmer than elsewhere in the US. Temperatures still rise to over 60°F on most days in January, however, the average low is 49°F. If you are looking to visit beaches or water parks, this may not be the best time to visit! However, if you are looking for a pleasant climate to tour some of the state’s attractions, it’s a fantastic time of year. Also, if you get the chance to visit in December, you will be spoilt by the incredible holiday decorations. The theme parks go all out with festive decorations and special events. Spring in Florida Spring is one of my favorite times of year to visit Florida, with temperatures picking back up again. Apart from Spring Break and Easter, where crowds and prices increase, this is generally a quieter time of year to visit. By May, the warm summer temperatures are starting to appear, however, you won’t find the heat as oppressive as in the middle of summer. In April, temperatures reach an average high of 81°F each day, perfect for enjoying the outdoor activities Florida has to offer. Summer in Florida Summer brings about high levels of crowds throughout the state and hot and humid weather. However, if you are looking for guaranteed warm weather, it’s the best time to visit. Prepare yourself in advance, and expect to take plenty of breaks throughout the day to ensure you don’t get overheated. Temperatures in June and July can be as high as 91°F, so keep hydrated and plan time by the pool each day to cool off. By the end of August, crowds start to drop off as kids return to school. However, this is also the start of the hurricane season, with rainfall and thunderstorms becoming a common occurrence. Fall in Florida Hurricane season in Florida peaks in August and September each year, so you can expect to see more rain and thunderstorms if you are visiting during this time. However, the crowds in September are much lower in Florida, and it’s a great time to get good deals on accommodation. Heading into October and November, you can enjoy fun Halloween activities throughout the state. Temperatures start to drop off in October, with an average high of 72°F each day. As you can see, Florida has something to offer throughout the year. If you are looking for the perfect activity which you can enjoy at any time of the year, consider a half- or full-day Cape Coral Fishing Charter. This offers you the chance to see another side of life in Florida, while enjoying the area’s spectacular nature. Whenever you choose to visit, I hope you have a great vacation next time you are here in Florida.
